How lefty is this movement? On the back of the flyer is a list of organizations who endorse this march. Along with Queers for Peace & Justice and FIST - Fight Imperialism Stand Together is Millions for Mumia. The mention of Mumia's name is the tip-off that we're in far left field.

All Out for Mumia

Mumia Abu-Jamal's is a case that has become a cause. I've seen this guy's face on flyers for as long as I've lived in New York.

The state of Pennsylvania says that Mumia (born Wesley Cook) killed a Philadelphia cop. The far left believes that he is a political prisoner of the global police state.

Mumia's death sentence was overturned so it looks like this battle will continue for the rest of his life.

Imperialism

This poem sounds like a spoof of a spoken word artist's first efforts. After writing this, the poet would address the issues of racism, capitalism, the police state and Mumia Abu-Jamal.
